For enhanced safety, the front and second-row seat shoulder belts of the Infiniti QX80 have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Jeep Wagoneer doesn’t offer pretensioners for its second-row seat belts.

The QX80 Autograph has a standard front seat center airbag, which deploys between the driver and front passenger, protecting them from injuries caused by striking each other in serious side impacts. The Wagoneer doesn’t offer front seat center airbags.

Both the QX80 and the Wagoneer have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver and front passenger knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, height adjustable front shoulder belts, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, rearview cameras, rear cross-path warning and available all wheel drive.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety does 40 MPH moderate front offset crash tests on new cars. In this updated test, results indicate that the QX80 is much safer than the Wagoneer:

The Infiniti QX80 has achieved the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) highest rating of “Top Safety Pick Plus” for the 2025 model year. This distinction is based on its exceptional performance in IIHS’ rigorous battery of safety tests. Specifically, it earned a “Good” rating in the latest, more stringent moderate overlap front crash test, a “Good” result in the updated side impact test, and a “Good” score in the revised pedestrian crash prevention test. The Wagoneer is not even a standard “Top Safety Pick” for 2025.

The QX80 comes with a full 4-year/60,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire truck and includes 24-hour roadside assistance. The Wagoneer’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 24,000 miles sooner.

Infiniti’s powertrain warranty covers the QX80 1 year and 10,000 miles longer than Jeep covers the Wagoneer. Any repair needed on the engine, transmission, axles, joints or driveshafts is fully covered for 6 years or 70,000 miles. Coverage on the Wagoneer ends after only 5 years or 60,000 miles.

The QX80’s corrosion warranty is 2 years longer than the Wagoneer’s (7 vs. 5 years).

J.D. Power and Associates’ 2024 Initial Quality Study of new car owners surveyed provide the statistics that show that Infiniti vehicles are better in initial quality than Jeep vehicles. J.D. Power ranks Infiniti above average in initial quality. With 13 more problems per 100 vehicles, Jeep is rated below average.

The QX80’s 3.5 turbo V6 produces 30 more horsepower (450 vs. 420) and 48 lbs.-ft. more torque (516 vs. 468) than the Wagoneer’s standard 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder.

On the EPA test cycle the QX80 AWD gets better fuel mileage than the Grand Wagoneer 3.0 turbo 6-cylinder (16 city/19 hwy vs. 14 city/20 hwy).

A nine-speed automatic is standard on the Infiniti QX80, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only an eight-speed automatic is available for the Wagoneer.

The QX80 stops much shorter than the Wagoneer:

The QX80 Autograph AWD handles at .78 G’s, while the Wagoneer Series II 4x4 pulls only .73 G’s of cornering force in a Motor Trend skidpad test.

The QX80 Autograph AWD executes Motor Trend’s “Figure Eight” maneuver quicker than the Wagoneer Series II 4x4 (27.9 seconds @ .62 average G’s vs. 28.4 seconds @ .6 average G’s).

For greater off-road capability the QX80 Pure has a 1.3 inches greater minimum ground clearance than the Wagoneer (9.6 vs. 8.3 inches), allowing the QX80 to travel over rougher terrain without being stopped or damaged.

The QX80 is 3.5 inches shorter than the Wagoneer, making the QX80 easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The QX80 has 2.9 inches more front legroom and .1 inches more third row hip room than the Wagoneer.

The QX80 has a standard third row seat which folds flat into the floor. This completely clears a very large cargo area quickly. The Wagoneer doesn’t offer seats that fold into the floor.

J.D. Power and Associates surveys of service recipients show that Infiniti service is better than Jeep. J.D. Power ranks Infiniti 7th in service department satisfaction (above the industry average). With a 19% lower rating, Jeep is ranked 21st.

The QX80’s front and rear power windows all open or close with one touch of the switches, making it more convenient at drive-up windows and toll booths, or when talking with someone outside of the car. The Wagoneer’s standard power windows’ rear power window switches have to be held the entire time to close them fully.

The QX80’s standard Infiniti Intelligent Key allow you to unlock the doors from any outside door handle, open the cargo door, and start the engine, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. Keyless Enter-N-Go standard on the Wagoneer doesn’t offer a sensor on the rear doors, so you’ll have to reach a front handle to unlock the rear door.

The QX80’s rain-sensitive wipers adjust their speed and turn on and off automatically based on the amount of rainfall on the windshield. This allows the driver to concentrate on driving without constantly adjusting the wipers. The Wagoneer’s standard intermittent wipers change speed with vehicle speed, but can’t turn on and off or change speed based on changing rainfall.

The Infiniti QX80 has power folding mirrors that offer unparalleled convenience while maneuvering in tight places or parked. With the mirrors folded it’s easier to walk past and help prevent parking damage. The mirrors can be quickly unfolded when the driver is ready to leave. Power folding mirrors costs extra on the Wagoneer.

The QX80 has standard heated front, second and third row seats; a heated third is standard on the QX80 Autograph, which keep the driver and passengers extremely comfortable in the winter. Jeep doesn’t offer heated seats in the third row of the Wagoneer.

Both the QX80 and the Wagoneer offer available massaging front seats. The QX80 Autograph also has standard massaging second row seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging second row seats aren’t available in the Wagoneer.

To quickly and conveniently keep personal devices charged without cables tangling and wearing out, the Infiniti QX80 has a standard wireless phone charging system (Qi) in the center console. Wireless charging costs extra on the Wagoneer.
